Travellers returning from an orange zone are asked to self-quarantine upon their return to Belgium.
Besides Luxembourg, several departments in France are also concerned, namely Nord, Pas-de-Calaid, Haut-Rhin and Haute-Savoie.
So should a resident from Belgium stay at home for a 14-day period if driving through Luxembourg, or spending time there?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that that the answer is “no”.
If a traveller has spent less than 48 hours in an orange zone then they are not required to go into quarantine in Belgium. Thus, refuelling, shopping or day trips are not an issue.
Note, however, that quarantine is still ‘recommended’ upon return.
