The union is adamant about seeing concrete and substantial changes being made to fight off rising youth unemployment.

OGBL's youth department has released a press statement demanding that unemployment status becomes a universal right. Currently, compensation limits are bound to age, time of registered unemployment, and diplomas held by the person making the demand.

The union further advocates for an expansion of support measures and a reform of current regulations to aid young people in finding employment.

According to Eurostat, national unemployment of people between the age of 16 and 25 is set at 25%, which puts Luxembourg behind Spain and Greece.
