Following the government announcement on 15 April, the City of Luxembourg has confirmed the cancellation of a number of events.

The following events will be cancelled after the ban on large gatherings was extended to 31 July 2020.

  • All concerts and shows planned for the Place d’Armes and Place Guillaume II up to and including 31 July.
  • All flea markets up to and including 31 July.
  • Citizen participation meetings up to and including 31 July.
  • Awareness weeks for special needs – "A city for all" (April to June 2020)
  • Park services open day (25 April 2020)
  • "Literary Tuesdays" (28 April, 12 May, 9 June and 14 July2020)
  • Cessange Kiermes (1-5 May 2020)
  • Mäertchen (2 -17 May2020)
  • Attic clear-outs (3 May, 7 June and 5 July 2020)
  • Art in the Grund (3 May, 7 June and 5 July 2020)
  • Merl Kiermes (22 -26 May 2020)
  • ING Night Marathon Luxembourg (23 May 2020)
  • My Urban Piano (28 May to 21 June 2020)
  • Gasperich Kiermes (6 -9 June 2020)
  • Theaterplage beach (June– September 2020)
  • Rencontres sans frontières (14 June 2020)
  • Sport for all  (April to July 2020)
  • Fête des voisins (Neighbours Day)
  • Fête de la Musique (19 June 2020)
  • Intra Urban Youth Dance Festival (21 June 2020)
  • Future Talent Stage (21 June 2020)
  • National Day (22 and 23 June 2020)
  • City Skyliner (July and August 2020)
  • « Kinnekswiss loves… » (3 -4 July 2020)
  • Bonnevoie Kiermes (10 -14 July 2020)
  • Blues’n Jazz Rallye (18 July 2020)
  • Kanner in the City (31 July and 1 August 2020)

  • S.d.S. Sport weeks (July to September 2020)

Beyond 31 July, the following events have been cancelled due to large predicted crowds, the current unpredictability and difficulty in organising given current circumstances:

  • Streeta(rt)nimation (8 August 2020)
  • Schueberfouer (21 August to 9 September 2020)

The bi-weekly market on Place Guillaume II will continue to take place every Wednesday and Saturday.

Food trucks may continue to offer a take-away service and the"Glacismaart" will be held as scheduled on 17 May, 21 June and 19 July 2020 for food products only.
