
The initiative, which was recently launched by a group of private individuals, has proved to be a success.
Secondary schools, businesses and institutions have also joined the initiative to make 3D printers available for producing healthcare supplies. More than 750 3D printer owners have participated.
By the end of the week, at least 200 people were actively involved in printing the supplies, before taking them to the six drop-off stations around the country:
1,257 protective masks were distributed to hospitals and care homes by the weekend, notably in Bertrange where a retirement home has suffered from a high number of coronavirus cases.
