Images of a large workspace, divided up between the army, ministry of health, ministry of defense, CGDIS, CFL, hospitals and public research institutions: this is Luxembourg's COVID-19 logistics unit.
The video documents the work done in the unit and interviews the various people involved. "There are a lot of people with different competences that have come together to help each other solve the problem," says Gilles Feith, general coordinator at the ministry of defense.
The unit, which falls under the responsibility of the ministry of health, is divided up into various groups. One is reponsible for collecting donations used to help tackle the virus, another group analyses what's been brought in and whether it can be used. A third group focuses on deliveries, while a fourth refills stocks and orders missing items.
Director of Health Patrick Majerus explains that many individuals are sending in requests to deliver materials. These emails are centralised at the unit and the responsible people are then dispatched.
Minister of Health Paulette Lenert: "At this stage, I am very impressed by the speed with which people from different administrations managed to coordinate, and how well they were able to put together a good team in an efficient way to deal with the situation. I would like to thank them all."
