André Prüm and Norbert Becker will support the report's author in order to apply the proposed measures.
The Grand Ducal Court is continuing to experience after-effects of the Waringo report, even in these uncertain times of the coronavirus pandemic. Ten days ago it was announced that Court Marshal Lucien Weiler would be retiring after four years of service. Jeannot Waringo, the author of the report on the internal functioning of the Court, will benefit from the assistance of two advisers in order to put the proposed reforms into practice.
The Grand Duke is expected to confirm Weiler's departure date this week, as well as announcing the name of his successor. The new Court Marshal will have his work cut out for the complete reorganisation of the Court will now rest on his shoulders, in close collaboration with the Minister of State who is responsible for the link between the government and the Court.
In the meantime, the two advisers who will assist Waringo with their respective expertise have been named as André Prüm and Norbert Becker, according to information from the Luxemburger Wort. This news has also been confirmed to RTL and communicated internally to the rest of the Court's staff.
André Prüm has been a lecturer in law at the University of Luxembourg for 15 years, while Norbert Becker is the founder of Atoz and has enjoyed a long and successful career in the Luxembourg financial sector. The two experts were chosen based on their extensive knowledge of the world of finance, finance law and personnel organisation, in order to put into practice the measures laid out in the Waringo report.
CSV politician and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Lucien Weiler, who initially formed part of the Waringo report, was due to retire late last year but ultimately delayed his departure by four months until Easter. According to our information, the chief of staff Michel Heintz should also leave the Grand-Ducal Court at the same time.
