The LSAP's directing committee met on Monday evening to propose a government reshuffle in light of Schneider's resignation, which the deputy Prime Minister confirmed in a press conference earlier on Monday.
Current MP and president of the LSAP, Franz Fayot, is tipped to take the post of Minister of the Economy as well as Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs.
Paulette Lenert, current Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, will relinquish this role in favour of Minister of Health. She will also take on responsibilities for social security.
Finally, Dan Kersch, Minister of Sport and Labour and Employment, will replace Schneider as deputy Prime Minister.
The LSAP General Council convene on 8 January to endorse these proposals.
