The municipality issued a press release indicating that fraudulent tornado-related documents have been circulating for several days.
Two Luxembourgish-speaking women reportedly go from door to door and hand out questionnaires in order to find out about the damage caused by the tornado on 9 August and the donations that were made to the victims.
The documents, the municipality warned, are not official documents. The victims are urged not to fill out the questionnaires nor to share any kind of information with the two women.
The municipality of Bascharage will distribute an information sheet outlining the procedures that the tornado victims have to respect to benefit from potential financial aids.
