Fnac, the French chain selling cultural and electrical products, has now opened its first store in Luxembourg, having received the keys to the central outlet in June. With a space of 1,800 square metres, the French chain is now the first retailer to set up shop in the new Royal Hamilius shopping centre.

The shop, with a workforce of 31 employees, has fitted its home on the ground and lower ground floor of the new shopping centre, based on the corner of Grand-Rue and Rue Aldringen. The chain’s Belgium and Luxembourg director Charles-Henri de Maleissye, confirmed the shop is “one of the most prestigious spaces” they have opened recently.

The management of the Hamilius flagship explained that they hired a multilingual team to reflect the shop’s diverse stock: there will be 30,000 items available in French, German, English, and even Luxembourgish. The store’s manager Richard Hoitinga added that Fnac plans to adapt to the “specificity of the Luxembourgish market”, consequently offering innovative and multicultural items.

As well as selling books, Fnac will have a ticket service and a high-tech department including over 2,500 products. The shop opens to the public at 10 am on Friday morning.
