The Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Confederation of Public Services (CGFP) have addressed criticism to the Union of Luxembourgish Enterprises (UEL) in a press release.
The government council's emphasis on social dialogue on 4 October have empowered the unions to persevere in that respect.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel further stressed the importance of social dialogue in his State of the Nation speech.
Employers should therefore abandon their "empty chair" policy at the Standing Committee on Labour and Employment, say the trade unions. The unions further declared that the UEL's provocative attitude undermined their achievements of the last 40 years.
