In 2018, the price of bread and cereals in the European Union was more than three times as high in the most expensive country than in the cheapest one.

When price levels in countries are compared with the EU average price level index of 100, the results show that in 2018, the price of bread and cereals was highest in Denmark (52% higher), followed by Austria (35% higher), Luxembourg and Finland (both 27% higher).

In contrast, the price levels for bread and cereals were lowest in Romania (46% lower), followed by Bulgaria (38% lower) and Poland (32% lower).
