Nobody has heard from Nicolas Holzem, who was on a motorcycle trip in South America, since mid-June. His family is worried.

Holzem had been on the road in South America since April, however it has been several weeks since his family last heard from him. Anxious, his family have reported his disappearance and have been tracing his journey back to the beginning in the hopes that it would reveal something.

The last time Nicolas was seen was on June 15th in Cuzco, Peru, where he was registered at an inn.

According to another traveller who contacted the family after the search was declared, he had intended to travel to Lake Titicaca in Bolivia via the Tilali border post. Nicolas's family has also contacted biker and traveller forums, who have put up relevant information but so far, no further information concerning Nicolas' whereabouts has come up.

A missing person's report has been made to the Luxembourg police, who passed it on to the public prosecutor's office. The public prosecutor's office must grant authorisations in order to access things like credit card statements or grant permission for formal on-site searches.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Holzem's family both contacted the Belgian Embassy in Peru, which is also responsible for Luxembourg nationals. The family also has given Peruvian police the go ahead to start their own investigations.

Finally, the local press in Peru and Bolivia should be broadcasting the matter as soon as possible. Simultaneously, Holzem's family is continuing its own research through the social networks of bikers and travellers.
