Lost and disorientatedGouvAlert.lu app helps emergency services find woman involved in car crash

On Tuesday night, a motorist found herself lost and crashed into a guardrail at the entrance to a business site near Rumelange.

The woman had got lost and ended up by colliding into the guardrail. Whilst she did not sustain any injuries, the driver was in shock after the collision.

She contacted 112, but was completely disorientated and was unable to provide the emergency services operator with details on the road name or town. The dispatcher recommended that she download the GouvAlert.lu app on her phone and call 112 through the app. Calling via the app allowed emergency services to locate her and help her.

The accident was attended to by an ambulance from Esch-sur-Alzette, the police, and the Rumelange fire brigade.
