Ikea has confirmed it is planning on opening an online shop for Luxembourg customers to launch "soon".

This online will allow Luxembourgish customers to obtain home deliveries, which are currently unavailable. Rumours of the online store have been circulating for months, with Ikea saying they had no specific plan to do so.

A physical shop here?

On Wednesday, multiple Belgian media outlets reported that Ikea would open a branch in the Grand Duchy in 2025. The sites based this information on an reported statement from the Swedish company. The statement reportedly set out Ikea's intention to extend its activities to 11 further countries and open 19 new branches in South America (Chile, Colombia, Peru), Europe (Estonia,Ukraine, Luxembourg), and Macao, Oman, and in the Philippines. RTL was unable to obtain this press release.

Ikea Belgium is responsible for service towards Luxembourg-based customers and responded to RTL Today's colleagues at the French-language 5minutes who called to inquire: it confirmed that there are currently no plans to open a physical  branch in Luxembourg, even if the group is constantly looking to expand its product and service offering to customers from Luxembourg.
