As part of the “Hazeldonk” cooperation, in which the Benelux countries and France work together to combat international drug trafficking, various police services, together with customs, carried out an inspection on Thursday morning between 5.30am and 12pm at the logistics centre in Bettembourg.

The operation targeted trucks travelling from the Netherlands to Luxembourg. A total of 715 parcels were scanned, 17 of which underwent a more detailed inspection. In addition, around 3,000 packages coming from the Netherlands and Belgium were examined by police dogs. It has not been specified whether any illegal substances were found.
