Vaccination Campaign40% of Luxembourg's adult population fully vaccinated

RTL Today
Luc Feller, the High Commissioner for National Protection, stated that participation in the vaccination campaign is "relatively high" at the moment.

An enthusiasm which is also evident in the volunteer lists. Since 12 June, 18,400 people have signed up for the Johnson&Johnson vaccine and 5,000 for the AstraZeneca vaccine. These are to be added to the 34,000 who had already signed up for the AstraZeneca vaccine when the first list was made available.

The available AstraZeneca doses are currently mainly used to vaccinate people who have already received a first dose.

In contrast, 12,600 of the more than 18,000 Johnson&Johnson volunteers have already received an invitation to be vaccinated with the jab. 95% of them have made an appointment.

Feller specified that people who have registered on one of the volunteer lists are still eligible for an invitation according to their age group and they may still receive an invitation through the regular campaign, unless they have already made a vaccination appointment at that point.

In Luxembourg, about 60% of the adult population has already received a first dose of one of the available vaccines. 40% of residents over 18 are fully vaccinated, with two doses or one dose in the case of the J&J jab. The participation rate is however decreasing in the younger age groups, but only by a few percentage points compared to older demographics.
