CEO Gilles Feith stressed that Luxair is and will remain a high quality airline. He explained that the goal of LuxairGroup is to offer safe holidays to its customers.

Luxair executives hold daily meetings in order to evaluate the demand and the recent virus developments in countries and cities that the airline flies to. Adaptations can be made accordingly, Feith said.

Luxair recently announced that customers can postpone booked flights or holidays by one year. The only condition is that they postpone the trip at least three weeks before the scheduled departure.

After travel restrictions were lifted, the airline also managed to offer more flights than its competitors in May and June. The capacities in July will run at 60% and at 70% in August.

According to Feith, Luxair recorded profit margins on the routes the airline has operated. He stressed that Luxair and the hotels would do everything in their power to keep travellers safe, adding that each customer also has a personal responsibility.

30% of the company’s employees are still on short-time working schemes. In other countries, airlines receive public aid. Feith explained that Luxair’s reserves are not infinite. He concluded that it was up to the executives to find a way to proceed with the shareholders.
