At approximately 12.20pm, a severe road accident occurred on the A6, heading towards Belgium, shortly after the Croix de Gasperich.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle collided with another car that was merging onto the highway. The driver of the first vehicle sustained critical injuries and had to be extricated from her car by firefighters. She was then taken to the hospital after receiving initial medical assistance at the accident site. In order to facilitate rescue and clearance efforts, three lanes were temporarily closed.
Sadly, the police announced on Thursday morning that the 22-year-old driver had succumbed to her grievous injuries on Wednesday evening at the hospital. A police inquiry has been initiated.
