In his enquiry, Goergen drew attention to the fact that in 2019, speed cameras and traffic wardens collected close to €2.7 million in government finances.
The number of fines awarded by traffic wardens is steadily increasing over time. While 276,000 fines were issue in 2013, that number had increased to 452,000 in 2019. Naturally, the number of traffic wardens needed to be increased over that same period of time.
