1. Attend opening night of Congés Annulés

As most event organisers in the country lean back for a summer break, Rotondes is opening its Congés Annulés season, with concerts, workshops, film screenings and a fantastic courtyard bar operating every day of the week. Join for a fun opening night of math rock and electro rock, and check out the full programme until the end of August.

2. See Luxembourg short films in Dudelange

A Short Night! comes to Dudelange on Saturday with an open-air celebration of Luxembourgish short films for all ages. Held at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, the evening features two screenings – one for children (6–8pm) and one for adults (8–10pm) – showcasing local filmmaking talent. With free entry, a food stand and drinks on site, it's the perfect way to enjoy cinema under the stars. Organised by the City of Dudelange and Cohacy Studio, with support from the Film Fund Luxembourg.

3. Hear Ronan Keating in Echternach

The three-day festival Echterlive is back this weekend, hosting international and local artists on the square under the historic Abbey of Echternach. Boyzone member Ronan Keating is playing on Friday, with Zoe Wees on Thursday, Francis of Delirium, Joel Marques, and OKE on Saturday, and Nico Santos and Josh Island on Sunday. 4. Visit the Contern ostrich farm

What: Lots of flightless birds

The tourist office of Guttland is organising a family trip to the ostrich farm in Contern, home to 300 small and large ostriches. Say hello to these cute birds and then continue your tour to the milking station – of cows, mind you, not ostriches. Free for children under five.

5. Watch free open air films in Colmar Berg

Sunset Cinema is back this weekend in Colmar Berg, screening Top Gun: Maverick, Vaiana, Dirty Dancing, and Fox an Fonsi. Screenings are free in the park, some come early and pack a stuffed picnic basket.

6. Enjoy Gëlle Fra summer square

The Place de la Constitution is a great place to cool off this summer, with playful water fountains for kids, a giant sandpit, merry-go-around, as well as a pétanque lane for adults. The square will also turn into an open air library throughout the month of August.

7. Play beach volley with party vibes

Beach volleyball lovers unite: The Sudstroum Luxembourg Beach Open is taking over the Esch Gaalgebierg from 25–27 July. The three-day programme includes after-works, beach parties, live acts, and chill beats all while enjoying the sandy game.
