2. See figure skating competition

The international figure skating competition in Luxembourg is taking place at the Kockelscheuer ice rink over the weekend. The precision required for this sport is staggering, and its elegance is breathtaking. International skaters, coming to Luxembourg from all over the world, will be showing off their top moves, and you can be watching them from the stands for a small price. There is also a Gala after the event. Check out the website for the provisional schedule and to get your tickets.

When: Sunday, 17 March, with plenty of events in the days before

Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. Similar to part 1, this is getting rave reviews.

6. Hear Nirvana & Purcell fusion gig

What: More similarities than expected!
Where: Trifolion, 2 Prte St Willibrord, 6486 Echternach
When: Saturday, 16 March at 8pm - info & tickets

The successful group behind ‘Handel meets Hendrix’ is back for a concert evening with titles by rock band Nirvana and baroque composer Henry Purcell. 17 string instruments fuse the sound of Kurt Cobain‘s grunge rock with Purcell’s baroque in a true sonic nirvana, no pun intended. Cobain was the vulnerable rebel, an icon of his time. The music of Henry Purcell, celebrated during his lifetime as England’s greatest baroque composer, also sings of loneliness and sensitivity, death and hunger for life, hell and paradise. A truly unique musical evening presented by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.
