New releaseBofferding launches organic beer

The National Brewery has launched a new organic product: Bofferding Bio. The release follows the evolution of consumers' expectations.

After venturing into the mineral water market, the National Brewery has continued to innovate and evolve.

Marketing manager Fabien Cesarini said they had picked up on the trend for organic products among consumers and responded accordingly.

The launch of the organic local Bofferding Bio beer was strengthened by the success of the Funck-Bricher bio, as well as investments made to reduce the carbon footprint of production and agreements with the IBLA to promote the organic brewing barley subsidiary in Luxembourg.

The three essential products for making beer - water, barley and yeast - come from Luxembourg. Only the hops come from the greater region as there are no organic hops in the Grand Duchy, explained Frédéric de Radigues, managing director.

The beer is light, with a slight taste of hops and hints of cereal. Displaying a small 5 ° of alcohol, the Bofferding Bio is located below the Funck-Bricher (5.4 °)

At present, de Radigues emphasised there were no plans afoot for a non-alcoholic beer.

Initially, Bofferding Bio will exclusively be available in Cactus, before rolling out to other supermarkets from 15 June.
