La Villa Pétrusse, under the directory of chef Kim de Dood, is expected to open its doors in spring 2025, to replace the former Villa Baldauff.

The project has been in planning for several years, and now it has finally come to fruition. The Villa Pétrusse, which has been undergoing renovation works for the past five years, is expected to open its doors to the public next spring. The restaurant is located on avenue Marie-Thérèse in Luxembourg, where Villa Baldauff used to be.

According to the press release, the 19th-century building features a total of 22 rooms, including two suites, one private penthouse, which act as event and reception locations. The villa also hosts a fine-dining restaurant called “Le Lys”, which will be managed by the 32-year-old Luxemburgish chef Kim de Dood, who has just come back from several experiences in Asia where he received two starts at Saint-Pierre in Singapore. He was also in charge of the Luxembourg pavilion restaurant throughout Expo 2020.

The young chef intends to serve “Luxembourgish cuisine inspired by Asian influences”. La Villa Pétrusse’s ambition is clear: “become an unmissable culinary destination in Luxembourg”.

The former villa, La Villa Baldauff was built during the 19th century by the urbanist and landscaper Edouard André, the architect Pierre Kemp and the Sosthène Weis, a painter inspired by Luxembourgish landscapes. Back then, the artistic trio had launched many constructions of small villas surrounded by gardens right in the city centre.

The decor for La Villa Pétrusse is marked by the influences of designer and interior architect Tristan Auer. Certain historical elements were restored to meet its original build, “like the precious papers painted by hand, a reproduction of artworks by Sosthène Weis, with custom-designed furniture elements." Their press statement has assured that La Villa Pétrusse “has kept the luxurious atmosphere of a private villa” from the 19th century.
