Next October, Treviso, the birthplace of tiramisu, will host the 2025 Tiramisu World Cup, where 240 versions of Italy's most famous dessert will compete for the crown.
The organisers are currently looking for 100 food lovers willing to become official judges, tasked with tasting and rating each gourmet creation.
The event will take place from 10 to 12 October, offering dessert lovers a chance to fulfil their sweetest dream of becoming a professional tiramisu taster.
Each year, the judges for the selection rounds of the Tiramisu World Cup are chosen following a 15-question test on their knowledge of the competition's rules.
This year, there's a major change: potential judges will have just one day to apply by taking the test!
But be warned, it's not just about enjoying the world’s best tiramisus. Tasters must ensure the ingredients are respected and that the traditional recipe remains perfectly balanced.
As for the participants, they don't necessarily need to be gastronomy experts. They can choose between two recipes: the original, which requires specific ingredients that cannot be altered, or the creative, with up to three additional ingredients on top of the original recipe.
Full details about this prestigious international competition can be found on the official Tiramisu World Cup website (in English).
