Christmas may be over, but there are still plenty activities across the Grand Duchy to keep families busy.

In Luxembourg City, the Winterkids Village at Place Guillaume II will continue to offer a warm, creative setting for children and parents during the holidays into the new year. The programme brings together a wide range of activities, including cooking, handicraft and gift-making workshops, alongside puppet shows, singing and live music.

Families can drop in and take part without prior reservation, signing up on site shortly before each activity, subject to availability. More details here.

Monday

The Christmas edition of Cirque du Lux combines high-level acrobatics with classic circus spectacles. International performers known from major circus festivals are joined by jugglers, clowns, tightrope walkers and aerial artists, in a visually driven show designed to appeal across generations. With no animals, no language barriers, and a strong focus on atmosphere, it offers a shared end-of-year outing for families. Performances take place on Monday 29 December, with afternoon and early evening shows. More details here.

Tuesday

Designed for young audiences, the session invites participants to create their own mosaic using an unexpected material: beans. By playing with colours, shapes and textures, children can experiment freely and produce a small artwork of their own. The multilingual workshop is suitable for children aged three and up and is offered in two time slots per date. Sessions take place at the museum’s Ville-Haute site. More details here.

Wednesday

Children can burn off some winter energy at WinterKids’ child-friendly disco event led by DJ Packo.

With more than two decades behind the decks, DJ Packo brings a lively, age-appropriate mix of well-known classics, current hits and festive tracks designed to keep young dancers moving. The focus is firmly on fun and inclusivity, creating a relaxed party atmosphere where children can enjoy music together in a central outdoor setting. The disco takes place at Place Guillaume II, better known as Knuedler. More details here.

Thursday

Ring in 2026 at a gentler pace with a New Year’s Brunch at Mama Shelter Luxembourg, where the focus is firmly on indulgence. The all-you-can-eat brunch brings together a generous mix of continental and English breakfast classics, hot and cold buffet dishes, festive specialities such as oysters and foie gras, and a full dessert spread. One glass of crémant or a mocktail is included, setting the tone for a relaxed start to the year. While adults settle in, children can enjoy a supervised activity area on site, allowing families to ease into New Year’s Day without rushing. More details here.

Friday

At Villa Vauban, visitors are invited to explore Luxembourg’s art history through a regular guided tour titled Welcome to the Villa. The tour centres on a selection of Luxembourgish artworks, bringing together recent acquisitions and donations alongside works dating from the 20th century to the early 2000s. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm are featured, alongside numerous contributions by female artists. The exhibition also highlights figures associated with the Luxembourg Secession, including Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack and Klopp, as well as artists such as Jacqueline Hentges and Coryse Kieffer. The guided visit takes place at Villa Vauban – Musée d’Art de la Ville de Luxembourg. More details here.

Saturday

At Mudam Luxembourg, visitors can discover the architectural history of the museum during a guided tour dedicated to its design and development. Focusing on the work of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Ieoh Ming Pei, the tour examines how the building has reshaped Luxembourg’s cultural and urban landscape. The guided visit takes place at Park Dräi Eechelen and offers insight into both the structure itself and its surroundings. More details here.

Sunday

At Mudam Luxembourg, young visitors can take part in a creative workshop designed especially for the museum’s youngest audience. Aimed at Mudam’s ‘Mudaminis’, the activity invites children to explore a short story together before turning it into a large collective drawing. The session offers a playful, colourful introduction to storytelling and creativity, encouraging children to imagine, draw and collaborate. The workshop takes place on Sunday 4 January 2026, from 10.00 to 11.00, at Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Park Drai Eechelen. More details here.

At Escher Theater, children are invited to explore the world of theatre through a creative workshop built around the production La Louve.
