I must admit that Paris is one of my favourite cities to visit in Europe. And I think you’ll agree with me that there’s always something new to discover, always something beautiful to experience. And no visit is quite like the last.
If you’ve already visited with the kids at least once, and seen all the top tourist attractions, then now it’s time to deliver deeper and discover more of the magic Paris has to offer families.
Disclaimer: this article doesn’t reference Disneyland Paris, but trust me, there’s plenty of things to do that are equally magical!

During the summer magic workshops are organized for children aged 6 to 11 (2.5 hours). The school of magic adapts tricks in accordance with the age of the children. There’s also a guided tour of the museum and a little gift at the end of the workshop. An activity that all the little Harry Potters and Hermione Grangers are sure to love! And maybe the adult ones too...
Ahhh le Marais, with its nice cafés, bars, museums, galleries and so on. It holds a special place in my heart. What can be truly magical is taking the children on a Sunday brunch at a beautiful Parisian café.
My top pick is Café Creme, which features healthy food options, freshly squeezed juices, croissants and pancakes to delight everyone in the family.
EL&N at Galeries Lafayette features not only pink decor, but also pink drinks and sweets. It’s playful, pleasant, and the cakes are delicious. EL&N is a rare thing: it started in London and expanded to Paris. Let me know how you find it!
The Bateaux Mouches are known worldwide, but less known is that you and the kids can go on a themed cruise with them on the river Seine, where the children can meet their favourite characters like LadyBug from the Croisiere Miraculous. The tour is in English or French and lasts an hour.
A must for all book-lovers. Located opposite Notre Dame, this famous bookstore is atmosphere, small, unique, magical, and very well visited. There’s usually a small queue to get in but it’s worth the wait. Because where there are books, there is magic.
Hire a specialized guide for a private tour for up to 25 people. You can pick a themed tour that is suitable for children of different ages:
From 6 July to 25 September, the LEGO Expo is celebrating 90 years of those iconic Danish bricks. For LEGO fans, but not only!
If your children love balloons, then the artistic Pop Air Expo is definitely the place to visit. Fifteen artists have created stunning installations with balloons and the result is mesmerizing.
I love what this museum says on its website because it’s true:

So add it to your list of things to do when in Paris.
In our family we love everything dinosaur-related. And yes, there’s an exhibition in Paris this summer for these majestic animals.
You can appreciate the full majesty of this iconic landmark from the gardens. It’s worth waiting until nightfall to get the full effect, even if it does mean the kids staying up a little longer...
Endless fun with science activities. For instance, kids aged 5 to 12 can enjoy themed games and activities related to the body, communication, TV, water games, a garden, and a factory.
