Luxembourg’s festival dedicated to cosplay, sci-fi, and fantasy, is back on April 12 and 13 at the Forum Geesseknäppchen.
Organised annually since 2014 by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Society Luxembourg, the convention offers fans of all genres a place to celebrate books, films, TV series, games, cosplay, and more. Modelled after big comic-con events in the USA and across the world, LuxCon has grown into a community staple, welcoming around 5,000 visitors each year.
Whether you're a newcomer or die-hard genre fan, Luxcon weekend will have something interesting for you with a packed programme of talks, readings, game demos, competitions, and performances.
Big names
As we have become accustomed to, Luxcon invites many distinguished guests from the world of art, culture, and entertainment. Headlining this year's event is Ursula Vernon, aka T. Kingfisher, a multiple Hugo Award-winning author and illustrator known for her rich catalogue of fantasy and children’s books, as well as the epic webcomic Digger.
Kevin Sonney, tech expert and co-host of the Productivity Alchemy podcast, will also be joining.
Marguerite Kenner and Alasdair Stuart, the duo behind Escape Artists and the horror podcast PseudoPod, will join the line-up. Stuart also contributes to RPGs and pop culture analysis, lending his voice and commentary to Re: Dracula and The Magnus Archives.
Robert Corvus, author of over 30 novels and contributor to the Perry Rhodan and Battletech universes will be discussing his work, inter alia.
Tabletop gaming enthusiasts will be excited for Jason Durall, creative director at Chaosium and a veteran of numerous TTRPG adaptations including Dune, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones.
Cosplay, art, and more
LuxCon’s celebration of creativity goes beyond the written word. Cosplayers Orin Cosplay, Hiobsbotschaft, and Chouchoubaka will be showing off their cosplays while supported by regional cosplay photographer Sid.
Meanwhile, artists, writers, and crafters will showcase and sell their creations.
Participants can also join in on geek karaoke, quizzes, cosplay competitions, and hands-on gaming.
The Luxcon 2025 edition takes place on 12–13 April at the Forum Geesseknäppchen, 40, bd. Pierre Dupong, Luxembourg City.
