A huge hit in his homeland Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and musician who is once more heading to the Grand Duchy for a stop off at the hallowed den A.
He is without doubt one of Iceland’s most successful exports, but in recent (pre-covid) years, the wonderfully talented singer-songwriter Ásgeir has spent the time between his record-breaking debut (now celebrating its 10th anniversary) and today pushing the boundaries of his textured, thoughtful brand of folk-pop.
Emerging as one of the strongest performers at the first edition of Siren's Call Festival 2017, Asgeir now returns to Luxembourg for his very own headline show at den Atelier.
The whole of RTL Today Radio's team are delighted that the multi-instrumentalist is back in the Burg and have been supporting new LP Time On My Hands with spins of Snowblind, Borderland and Like I Am.
If you have not heard his thrilling musical output, or taken in his amazing cover versions be sure to check him out at den Atelier, in what will be a really special show.

Interview Part One
Now, Ásgeir went from relative obscurity to absolutely massive in quite a short space of time…playing low-key gigs in his homeland to touring South Korea with Daughter and The National, having just celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn (Glory In Deadly Silence), this chat finds Ásgeir in a contemplative and reflective mood. This is part one of a two-part interview.
Interview Part Two
Ásgeir tells us about the themes on his new record Time On My Hands, how and why he recorded the brilliant cover versions of Heart Shaped Box and I Should Live In Salt. The Icelander suggests why he thinks the music world pays such close attention to the country’s music AND what it was like when Elton John phoned him up…This is part two of a two-part series.
