A burst of Caribbean culture is coming to Luxembourg as the LCCA hosts a full day of music, dance, and island cuisine in Esch-sur-Alzette. The non-profit organization, established a year ago, celebrates and promotes Caribbean traditions in Luxembourg while providing support to the Caribbean region following a devastating hurricane.
In a recent conversation with The Sam Steen Show hosts Sam and Meredith at Today Radio, Luxembourg Caribbean Carnival Association (LCCA) spokesperson Arlette Fenton shared how the initiative has grown, explaining that the group is committed not only to cultural exchange but also to fostering solidarity. The aim is to get people to experience the joy and richness of Caribbean traditions, while keeping attention on the ongoing recovery needs back home.
People are invited to mark their calendars for Saturday, 29 November, when Batiment 4 in Esch-sur-Alzette will transform into a vibrant cultural hub. The event runs from 12:30pm to 10pm, offering a full day of hands-on activities and entertainment.
Highlights include a free steelpan music workshop, giving participants the rare chance to try the iconic Trinidad and Tobago instrument, as well as an energetic soca dance class suitable for all levels. Attendees can also enjoy authentic Caribbean cuisine available throughout the day, adding a flavorful touch to the festivities.
The event is open to everyone and completely free of charge, with the only requirement being to register in advance – if you're planning to participate in one of the workshops you'd best hurry, as they have limited space.
The organisers encourage families, music lovers, dancers, and anyone curious about Caribbean culture to come ready to learn, move, taste, and celebrate.
You can check the LCCA website for registration and more information on the event.
