Today Radio is giving you the chance to win tickets to see Melbourne rock band Delivery, live at Rotondes on Wednesday, 21 August.
Formed during lockdown, Delivery emerged from a share house packed with musicians. Vocalist Rebecca Allan and guitarist James Lynch started writing songs together during the early days of the pandemic, inspired by no-frills rock bands like Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Intelligence and The Yummy Fur. What began as a small home project quickly evolved. With each band member living just a bedroom away, rehearsals were constant, songwriting was intense, and a raw, urgent sound began to take shape.
Delivery’s early work includes two sharp seven-inch releases, Yes We Do and Personal Effects / The Topic, followed by their critically acclaimed 2022 debut album Forever Giving Handshakes. Described as “controlled chaos” and praised for its intricate guitar interplay and sociopolitical edge, the record put Delivery on the map as one of the most exciting new bands in Australia.
Melbourne’s vibrant and tight-knit music scene helped nurture the band’s growth, feeding the energy and community spirit that fuels their second album Force Majeure. That record is a twelve-track blast of hook-heavy, full-throttle rock that channels punk urgency with a modern sensibility.
Now, they’re bringing their furious live show to Rotondes, and you could be there.
