Tonight at 8pm on The Artist Hour, we're celebrating one of the most iconic indie rock bands of the 2000s: Franz Ferdinand.

The Glasgow-based group exploded onto the scene with their 2004 debut album, delivering razor-sharp guitar hooks and dancefloor-ready rhythms that redefined what indie rock could sound like. Tracks like Take Me Out, Michael, Do You Want To and No You Girls helped the band build a global following and a reputation for electrifying live performances.

Now, over two decades since their breakout, Franz Ferdinand are as sharp and magnetic as ever. Their 2022 compilation Hits to the Head reminded fans just how many anthems they have in their catalogue and how much they still bring to the stage.

The band will return to Luxembourg next year for a live show at Rockhal on 10 April, presented by den Atelier. Tickets go on sale this Friday.

In tonight’s edition of The Artist Hour, we’ll revisit the songs that made Franz Ferdinand one of the most exciting bands of their era, dig into some of the deeper cuts, and explore the influence they’ve had on modern indie and post-punk.
