From left to right: Kungs, Dino D'Santiago, and Wallows
This action-packed weekend not only welcomed the night of the museum but also multiple musical acts such as Kungs, Wallows, and Dino d'Santiago.
Luxembourg's music venues were packed as so many shows took place in between Friday, October 11 to Saturday, October 12.
Kungs
Den Atelier hosted Kungs, a French DJ and record producer. Born in 1996 in Toulon, this young DJ has already gained international fame starting with his 2016 hit "This Girl."
He has performed at major music festivals like Tomorrowland and the Ultra Music Festival, and this weekend, his style of tropical house energised the packed crowd in the city.
Wallows
On Saturday, 12 October, the band Wallows was next to take over the den Atelier stage. Known for blending lo-fi post-punk, indie-folk, and ‘90s dance-pop, Wallows also filled the venue to the brim.
Consisting of Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston, Wallows toured in celebration of their third studio album that came out earlier this year, Model. Fans were thrilled – and well-prepped with handmade signs to watch the band live.
Dino D'Santiago
Dino D'Santiago was also in Luxembourg on Saturday night, as one of the acts of Philharmonie's Festival atlântico. The annual festival celebrates music from the Portuguese-speaking world – a community that plays a large role within Luxembourg.
Dino D’Santiago, a Portuguese artist of Cape Verdean descent, got the crowd of Philharmonie jumping and dancing with his blend of traditional Cape Verdean music and modern electro sounds and R&B vocals. Many different dialects of Portuguese could be heard everywhere in the Philharmonie – and even relatives of D'Santiago who live in Luxembourg were present for the show.
The socially conscious performer spoke of identity, family and freedom while also expressing pure joy of performing in the halls of the Philharmonie which years ago, after watching a video online, had become his dream.
