Today Radio has something special in store for you: experience the Luxembourg Philharmonic’s opening concert, Colours & Contrasts, featuring works from three renowned composers.

Prokofiev, Ravel, and Shostakovich – giants of classical music. On 20 September, some of their more unusual, yet captivating, works will be featured in the Luxembourg Philharmonic's first concert of the season "Colours and Contrast", sure to delight everyone's ears.

The program includes Ravel's enchanting musical tale for children, Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 3, which incorporates excerpts from an opera never performed during his lifetime, and Shostakovich's piano concerto featuring a trumpet solo, almost like a double concerto.

Conducting will be Gustavo Gimeno, Music Director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic since 2015, alongside renowned South Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho and Simon Van Hoecke, solo trumpet of the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
