That's right folks - Viggo Mortensen, whose long list of roles includes portraying Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings franchise, will visit Luxembourg to promote his new film 'The Dead Don't Hurt' as part of the Luxembourg City Film Festival.

The Dead Don't Hurt was written, directed, and stars Mortensen in a leading role alongside Luxembourgish megastar Vicky Krieps. Making matters yet more exciting is that RTL Today will have some pretty exclusive interview access.. and we have decided to let you submit questions for us to ask him.

We won't be able to ask him all of your questions - and any proposals of marriage are unlikely to make the cut, romantics though we may be - but we will pick out our favourites and do our best to get them answered for you.

Viggo Mortensen

Born in New York to American-Danish parents, Mortensen made his acting debut in Peter Weir's 1985 thriller Witness. Since then he's appeared in an impressive number of films, including Carlito's Way, The Portrait of a Lady28 Days, The RoadFalling, and of course the Lord of the Rings franchise.

Falling also saw Mortensen's directorial debut.

LuxFilmFest

The LuxFilmFest, with 123 films screened between 29 February and 10 March, is once again sure to delight film buffs here in the Grand Duchy.  In addition to short and feature films, there will be conferences, master classes, and a virtual reality pavilion.

With international premieres and guests from all over the world coming to the Grand Duchy for the LuxFilmFest, the event has long ceased to be a small festival that only attracts a limited audience.

And it is not just for one audience, argues LuxFilmFest artistic director Alexis Juncosa: "We don't want to be an elite festival that only attracts ultra-cinephiles. That's why we offer horror films, comedies, dramas, and even a programme for young people. We already have over 5,600 children registered. So we're trying to appeal to as many people as possible with a high-quality programme."

Luxembourg's award-winning actress Vicky Krieps and German actor Sebastian Koch will be on the festival's international jury.

While this 14th edition will not have an explicit theme, there are certain trends that can be found in all the films, says Juncosa: "Family, intimacy, resilience, these are the things we find throughout the selection."

As for some of the expected highlights at the upcoming 14th edition, Juncos had this to say: "The 'Wang Bing' exhibition will be interesting, as will be the virtual reality pavilion in Neumünster, and the masterclass of Gaspar Noé, who is an atypical director. And then there's the closing film, 'Love Lies Bleeding'. Believe me, you're not ready for this, it's something really amazing."

Mind you, that answer was given before they announced that Mortensen would be in attendance!
