The fallout from Swift Hesperange's failure to play on matchday 14 of the Luxembourg football BGL league continues, with the question now centred on how the match against Mondorf-les-Bains will be assessed.

Reports suggest that Swift Hesperange is likely to forfeit the match, a decision that would result in a 0-3 loss for the club and award three points to Mondorf. The Luxembourg Football Federation’s (FLF) disciplinary committee is set to meet on Thursday to issue an official ruling.

According to RTL information, Swift players went on strike over unpaid portions of their salaries, raising concerns about the team’s future participation in the league. Should the team fail to play a second match this season, FLF regulations mandate their removal from the championship.

In such a scenario, all remaining matches would be awarded as 0-3 losses for Swift, and the club would face relegation to the promotion round next season.

Swift Hesperange is scheduled to face Progrès Niederkorn away this Sunday. However, it remains unclear whether the team will field players for the game.
