Juan Ayuso claimed victory in the time trial of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg, moving up to second place in the overall standings.
On Saturday, Spaniard Juan Ayuso triumphed in the time trial of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg, narrowing the gap to the overall leader.
His performance over the 15.5-kilometre course that started and ended in Differdange earned him a seven-second lead over second-place finisher Antonio Tiberi of Italy and third-place finisher Mads Pedersen of Denmark.
With this win, Ayuso moved up to second place in the general ranking, trailing the overall leader Mathieu van der Poel by just three seconds. Van der Poel, who finished fifth in the time trial, retains his lead in the standings.
The top performer from Luxembourg on Saturday was Alex Kirsch, who achieved a commendable 10th place, finishing 31 seconds behind Ayuso.
