The Olympic torch will pass for the second time ever through Luxembourg, before making its way to the Robert Schuman house in Scy-Chazelles.
Olympics fans, mark your calendars! On Thursday 27 June 2024 there will be an important moment in Luxembourg's Olympic history, as it will be the first time in more than 75 years that the Olympic torch will pass through Luxembourg.
The torch will travel from Marseille to the Luxembourgish border and then hop over the Moselle to the border region linking Luxembourg, Germany, and France. There, it will be carried by Anne Kremer, a former tennis player and three-time Olympian, for around 20 minutes. During the torch's time in Luxembourg, there will be a ceremony with speeches by important guests such as the Mayor of Schengen, HRH the Grand Duke, members of the Luxembourg Olympic and Sports Committee, and many others.
The route the flame will take into the Grand-Duchy:

In the afternoon, the torch will arrive at the border triangle. The passage is scheduled from 1:10 PM to 1:30 PM and will cover a 1.2-kilometer route from Apach in France through Perl in Germany to Schengen in Luxembourg. In the middle of the bridge, Luxembourgish tennis player Anne Kremer will take over the Olympic flame to carry it to the Place des Étoiles in front of the European Museum. Here, the flame will be received by Grand Duke Henri, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, and Prince Louis.
Once the ceremony concludes, the torch will travel back to France, to the town of Yutz, and then to Thionville, before ending Thursday's journey in Metz in the evening.
The Olympic torch began its journey in Marseille back in May and has since travelled around France and across oceans to Tahiti and the West Indies.
