The Swiss rider has taken the yellow jersey from Ben Healy after coming in seventh in Stage 4 of the Tour de Luxembourg, while two Luxembourgish cyclists finished in the top ten.

Stage 4 of the Tour de Luxembourg departed from Pétange on Saturday, with Belgian rider Victor Campenaerts winning the time trial in 28:06 minutes, just a second ahead of Brandon McNulty and 20 seconds ahead of third-placed Diego Ulissi.

Luxembourgish riders Alex Kirsch and Arthur Kluckers finished in ninth and tenth place respectively.

Marc Hirschi rose to the top of the general ranking after reaching seventh place, taking over from Ben Healy ahead of the final stage on Sunday, when the Tour will cover some 177 kilometres from Mersch to Limpertsberg.
