Both Luxembourgish internationals were able to bring home important points on the final day of the Ukrainian Premier League.

Ukraine

Gerson Rodrigues and Dynamo Kyiv won 3:0 away against fourth-placed Kolos Kovalivka. Rodrigues was in the starting eleven and was only substituted in minute 72 when his team was already up by three goals. Due to their substantive point lead, Kyiv was declared winner of the league prior to their final encounter.

Oli Thill played the full 90 minutes for his side Vorskla Poltava in their final encounter against Minaj, who are last in the table. Thill thus ended the season with a 2:1 victory, which was also an important step for his team in the qualification process for next year's Europa League season.

International games on Saturday

In the Belgian Pro League, Laurent Jans was in the starting eleven for Standard Liège, who won a 2:1 victory against Gent. After the second day of the competition, Liège is now in second place.

Waasland-Beveren were less fortunate and suffered a 2:5 loss in their relegation encounter with RFC Seraing. The first leg ended in a 1:1 draw, which means that Waasland-Beveren will be relegated and Seraing promoted. Luxembourgish footballer Danel Sinani was in the starting eleven of Waasland-Beveren and contributed to the game by equalising to 2:2 in minute 51.

In Switzerland, Young Boys Bern beat Basel 2:0. Christophe Martins was in the starting eleven and scored the final goal of the game in  minute 72.

In Moldova, league leader Sheriff Tiraspol won 1:0 against Zimbru Chisinau. Sébastien Thill was on the bench during the entire game. His team currently holds a thirteen-point lead with five games left to play.

In the German third division, Saarbrücken drew 0:0 in Ingolstadt. Maurice Deville was another Luxembourgish player to be benched for the entirety of his team's encounter. After 36 league days, Saarbrücken is in fifth position below the promotion zone.

On Friday

Sparta Rotterdam beat Vitesse Arnhem 3:0 in the Dutch Eredivisie. Luxembourgish footballer Mica Pinot was only on the bench and did not get any minutes on the field.
