The journey Oliver Waldbillig is embarking on is 345km (215 miles) one way.

Oliver Waldbillig, once a gymnastic and now a personal trainer, thus has a total distance of 690km, or 430 miles, ahead of him.

Unsurprisingly, the challenge was borne out of lockdown conditions, and Waldbillig is hoping to raise money and awareness for environmental causes.

At least 75% of funds will go to an environmental organisation: "People can let me know which organisation they want to donate to and I will either pick the most popular one, or whichever I think is best from all the suggestions," he says.

The rest will help him on his challenge, and Waldbillig has bought a camera to film his process. A documentary might also be born out of it.

The start date was originally planned for the end of July, but a shin injury has postponed it until 5 August. His return is scheduled for the 29 August.
