While the press is invited to see the new stadium on Thursday, Luc Holtz, the coach of the national football team of Luxembourg, visited the new stadium last week.
The excitement is real.
The coach of Luxembourg's national team is still hopeful that some games could be played in the new stadium in autumn. However, at the same time Holtz is aware that there have been more important things over the past weeks:
"Our first concern was how everything could work sanitary wise. I hope that we will be able to play there as soon as possible. About a week ago, I saw the stadion again. I have to admit, it is quite a jewel. I understand that we had other problems on our minds recently. And if we have to wait until 2021 then that’s fine as well. My main priority is that we'll be able to play a game again, no matter if it’s in Josy Barthel or in the new stadium"
It is reported that the seats have almost all been installed already. According to information obtained by RTL, the upper row consists of red seats while the middle row is white and the bottom one blue. This is supposed to depict the tricolour flag.
It is expected that the date for the first game in the new football and rugby stadium will be announced on Thursday.
At the commencement of the project, the stadium was initially expected to open in late 2018 or early 2019.
