In the opening match, Martina Hingis secured a straightforward victory over Laura Robson, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
The second match, featuring Magdalena Rybarikova and Andrea Petkovic, proved to be more competitive. Rybarikova claimed the first set 6-4, but Petkovic rallied to secure the break at 5-5, taking the second set 7-5. Petkovic ultimately clinched the match by winning the tie-break 10-7.
