The LPGA Tour will stage a new $3.5 million event starting next year at TPC Boston, with the FM Global Championship offering the largest women's purse outside majors and Tour Championship.
The tournament, unveiled on Friday, will be played in 2024 from August 29 through September 1, two weeks before the Solheim Cup in suburban Washington, with a field of 144 under a five-year agreement.
"Boston is quickly becoming a dynamic home for women's sports," LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said. "We're thrilled to join this incredible movement."
It will be the LPGA's first event in New England since the 2004 US Women's Open at Orchards Golf Club in Massachusetts and the tour's first stop in the Boston area since 1997.
TPC Boston, which opened in 2002, has hosted 17 PGA Tour events but this will mark the first women's professional competition at the course.
