Cactus

From 3 to 5 July 2026, Cactus invites visitors to its large marquee at the Ettelbruck Agricultural Fair. The programme will feature producers, tastings, entertainment, and opportunities to meet people, offering a chance to discover the best of Luxembourg’s local agricultural sectors.

This year’s event takes on special significance as it forms part of the national awareness campaign launched by Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer. Through this initiative, Cactus aims to raise awareness of the agricultural supply chains developed with its partner producers over nearly 30 years, and to highlight to consumers the importance of short supply chains, local expertise, and the men and women who feed Luxembourg day in, day out.

Meet the men and women who produce food to better nourish Luxembourg

Over three days, several partner producers from Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer will be present in the Cactus marquee to share their craft, their passion, and their vision for Luxembourg agriculture.

A unique opportunity to meet the people who grow, rear, harvest, produce, and process the food we find on our plates every day, and to gain a better understanding of the work carried out on Luxembourg’s farms.

Taste the flavours of Luxembourg

Visitors will be able to discover products from the Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer network, Hausgemaacht specialities, recipes from Schnékert Traiteur, and Bruno coffees.

Local produce that finds its way into every kitchen and into everyday recipes, whatever one’s culinary traditions may be.

Tastings, gourmet discoveries, and chats with the teams will be on offer to celebrate Luxembourgish expertise and the richness of our local produce.

From field to plate: discover Cactus’s expertise

Under the marquee, visitors will also be able to meet the teams from Cactus’s butchery, charcuterie, patisserie, catering, and coffee-roasting workshops.

This is an opportunity to discover how raw materials sourced from partner agricultural supply chains are processed every day in Cactus’s workshops to create Hausgemaacht products, Schnékert Traiteur specialities, and Bruno coffees.

From farm to plate, visitors will gain a better understanding of the entire value chain linking producers, artisans, and distributors around a shared goal: to offer quality products whilst supporting Luxembourg agriculture, local employment, and the families who depend on it for their livelihood.

Discover ‘Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer’

Through its ‘Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer’ awareness campaign, Cactus aims to help consumers better identify products sourced from local supply chains, and understand all the work involved from field to plate.

This campaign also aims to raise public awareness of the importance of supporting local agriculture, short supply chains and the traditional skills of our region, which help to support the livelihoods of many families and businesses in Luxembourg.

Today, ‘Vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer’ brings together:

• 188 partner producers
• 335 listed products
• 7 Luxembourgish and regional agricultural supply chains
• 4 Cactus production facilities

30 years of ‘Rëndfleesch vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer’

This year’s event will also mark the 30th anniversary of Rëndfleesch vum Lëtzebuerger Bauer.

Established in 1996 in partnership with Luxembourgish livestock farmers and CONVIS, this pioneering sector has become a benchmark for local beef in Luxembourg and now brings together nearly 120 farms.

For three decades, it has exemplified the shared commitment of farmers, their partners, and Cactus to building a sustainable, transparent local supply chain that creates value for all stakeholders in the region.

On Sunday 5 July, producers, partners, and visitors will be invited to celebrate this symbolic anniversary together under the Cactus marquee.

Yuppi is looking forward to meeting the children

The little ones will also be delighted to meet Yuppi, Cactus’s iconic mascot.

Meet-and-greets, souvenir photos, giveaways, and entertainment will round off this weekend, which is all about conviviality, discovery, and shared family fun.

See you in Ettelbruck

From 3 to 5 July, the Cactus Tent will welcome young and old alike for three days of encounters, discoveries, activities, and tastings centred on the produce, producers, and expertise that make up Luxembourg’s rich heritage.

An invitation to gain a better understanding of the journey products take, from field to plate, to meet the people who produce and process them, and to discover how local supply chains contribute every day to supporting the country’s agriculture, artisan food production, employment, and economy.
