Fin Greenall, also known as Fink, has collaborated with many a titan of the modern music business. Previously a collaborator with Amy Winehouse, he's also worked with the likes of John Legend, Banks, Ximena Sariñana, and Professor Green.

Greenall, in other words, has written many great songs, and his personal discography speaks to this fact. Having released 11 full-length studio LPs with his personal project Fink, his specialty lies in richly layered folk feelings with delicate touches of rock, blues, and electronica.

Perhaps surprisingly, he started out as a DJ, releasing his debut Fink Funk in 1997. Featuring break beats and more than a touch of junglist influence, Fink Funk and its follow-up EP, Front Side, don't exactly sound like the modern-day Fink.

But even on these first, purely electronic releases, you can detect the textures that would later come to define the artist. Often laid-back and atmospheric, there's a sense of calm that penetrates through the frenetic BPM.

These releases are absolutely still worth listening to, by the way:

Growing disillusioned with dance music in the mid-2000s, Fink's pivot to folkier sounds was swift and potent. His first folk record, Biscuits For Breakfast (2006), suddenly featured accoustic guitars, soft vocals, blues-y flourishes – and subtly familiar electronic textures.

From here, Fink (along with a dedicated band) would embark on a decade-spanning career weaving these kinds of richly intricate and multifaceted songs.

20 years, 10 albums, and over 100 songs later, Fink and co. have just released their latest full-length LP, The City is Coming to Erase It All (June 5, 2026). Atmospheric, minimalistic, and somber at points, it was produced with a simple ethos: "If it didn't exist in 1974, you're not allowed to use it."

This refers to the instruments and techniques on display – and reflects Fink's approach to "nowstalgia" – another principle guiding the record. Balancing the now with familiar feelings of what once was, the album sound both timely and timeless.

These feelings, approaches, atmospheres will all be on offer at Rockhal on Monday, 2 November. And for a lucky pair of listeners, we've got two tickets to give away.
