Fun Lovin' Criminals are coming to Luxembourg this September, and this won't be an ordinary FLC show.

The New York band will take to the stage at opderschmelz in Dudelange on Tuesday, September 22nd, joined by The DiFontaine Orchestra for a night that reworks more than three decades of music with a full live orchestra. And RTL Today Radio has tickets to give away.

Scooby Snacks, orchestras and 30 years of FLC

Formed in New York City in 1993, Fun Lovin' Criminals carved out a sound that was difficult to put into any one box, mixing rock, hip-hop, funk, blues, jazz and disco.

Their breakthrough came in the mid-90s, with Scooby Snacks becoming their signature hit thanks to its laid-back groove and samples of dialogue from Quentin Tarantino films.

It was followed by a string of fan favourites, including Love Unlimited, their tribute to soul legend Barry White, as the band built a particularly devoted following on this side of the Atlantic.

More than 30 years later, Fun Lovin' Criminals are still on the road. Founding member and multi-instrumentalist Brian 'Fast' Leiser is joined by drummer Frank Benbini and guitarist Naim Cortazzi, with the band approaching their 400th live show since the beginning of the decade.

FLC gets the orchestral treatment

The Dudelange concert offers something a little different.

Fun Lovin' Criminals will be joined on stage by The DiFontaine Orchestra, with songs from across the band's catalogue rearranged for a full orchestral performance.

That means the classics and some deeper cuts from their first six studio albums will be given new arrangements, alongside material from their seventh and most recent record, A Matter of Time.

The idea, according to the band, is to transform those familiar FLC grooves into something "bigger, richer and more emotionally charged", while keeping the character of the songs intact.
