There's almost too much going on in the Grand Duchy. With Luxexpo Open-Air's programme in full swing, Luxembourgers can further look forward to one of the season's biggest, best parties: Paul Kalkbrenner, live on 17 July.
Paul Kalkbrenner grew up in East Berlin and was thirteen years old when the Berlin Wall fell. Immersing himself in the world of techno during the 90s, he would eventually emerge as part of a new wave of electronic music in Europe and the world.
His sound, marked by grand, sweeping gestures and melodic beats, is best suited for a venue like Luxexpo Open-Air. Large crowds, sunsets, elaborate light shows, cool sunglasses. Indeed, Paul Kalkbrenner possesses a unique mass appeal, keeing his songs dense yet light, layered yet infectiously catchy.
Indeed, Kalkbrenner has a fairly unique approach to live sets. Instead of playing his tracks straightforwardly, he rather breaks them down into smaller pieces and reassembles them live.
