The education ministry on Monday announced a new plan to improve inclusion in primary schools

Luxembourg’s Ministry of Education on Monday presented a new action plan aimed at improving inclusion in primary education and improving support for pupils with special needs.

The system has been notably expanded since 2017, with staff numbers increasingly and new specialist facilities introduced. Their number increased from 645 in 2017 to 1,902 in 2025. Despite this progress, schools are facing new challenges, particularly increasingly complex situations and behavioural issues among pupils. The plan therefore focuses on faster interventions and improved coordination between all involved stakeholders.

Central to the plan is the introduction of crisis teams in schools, capable of intervening rapidly in serious situations, alongside a further increase in specialist staff. Alternative support structures will also be developed, including specialised classes and socio-therapeutic centres. Prevention will play a greater role, with enhanced support structures from the start of schooling.

Police to receive 81 new BMW X3 vehicles, all petrol-powered

• The Grand Ducal police are set to expand their fleet with 81 new vehicles in the coming months.
