A 29-year-old woman reported missing last Friday, has been found dead in her flat near Nordallee in Trier. Police suspect murder.

The body of a young woman was discovered in her home in Trier, after police, firefighters, and emergency services forced entry to the residence. She had been reported missing since Friday.
According to a police statement, the woman had injuries that led investigators to suspect she was killed. The investigation into the cause of death, the circumstances surrounding the incident, and possible suspects remains ongoing. At present, police say no further details can be released.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have observed anything suspicious in the area around Nordallee between Friday and Sunday afternoon, or who may have other information connected to the case, to contact Trier police on +49 651 983 43900.

The University of Trier addressed its community in a letter on Monday, expressing shock and grief at the incident. The university noted this is the second time in a short period that a student has died as a result of external violence. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 23 July at 12pm in the chapel on Campus II. Books of condolence will be available from Monday, 22 July in the Studihaus and Staff Club on Campus I, as well as in the library on Campus II.

• According to Eurostat data, 83% of Luxembourg residents aged 15 and over took at least one leisure trip. This places the Grand Duchy among the European leaders, just behind the Netherlands at 84% and level with Finland and Sweden at 83%.
• This high level of participation confirms a trend already seen in previous years. Luxembourg residents travel frequently and, above all, they travel abroad. Luxembourg has the highest rate of outbound tourism in the European Union, with 83% of residents taking at least one trip outside the country. This is significantly higher than in other member states, where international travel often remains less common.
