Ed Sheeran has revealed he turned down a potential collaboration with Fortnite, simply because he doesn’t play the game. Despite being approached about appearing in the hugely popular title, Sheeran said he prefers to only attach his name to projects he genuinely uses or enjoys.
Instead, that mindset led him to work with Pokémon, a franchise he’s been a longtime fan of, resulting in his 2022 track Celestial. The decision highlights a more selective approach to brand partnerships - choosing authenticity over exposure, even when it means passing on one of gaming’s biggest platforms.
Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a wave of new collaborations, teaming up with Puma and London-based coffee brand Grind for a mix of fashion and lifestyle drops. The Puma collection includes trainers and apparel inspired by fan-favourite Pokémon like Pikachu, Espeon and Umbreon, with designs built around contrasting “day and night” themes.
Alongside the fashion collab, Pokémon is also entering the coffee world, partnering with Grind for themed drinks and products. The anniversary push highlights just how far the franchise has expanded beyond games - evolving into a global lifestyle brand that now spans fashion, food and culture as it marks three decades of dominance.
A special World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music concert tour has been announced to celebrate two decades of the iconic game, bringing its legendary soundtrack to stages across Europe, North America and Asia. The show features a full symphonic orchestra and choir performing music from across the franchise’s history, paired with in-game visuals for a fully immersive experience.
The tour kicks off in Europe with dates in Paris and Lyon this May, before expanding to cities including London, Birmingham and Lucerne later in the year, alongside a major North American run and additional Asian dates still to be confirmed.
